Carolyn grew up in Canton, Mississippi, and met her husband, Ralph, while attending Mississippi State College for Women, with Ralph studying at Mississippi State University. Together, they moved to Memphis, where Ralph continues to run his family’s heating and air conditioning business, established by his great-grandfather in 1905. Carolyn and Ralph raised three boys—Eric, Nathan, and Walter—and now enjoy time with their two granddaughters, Libby and Olivia. Carolyn has been married to Ralph for 58 years, and they’ve been active members of First Evangelical Church since 1979. In her free time, Carolyn enjoys gardening, reading great books, and traveling. She and Ralph have never considered retirement!

At Benchmark, Carolyn has been Nancy’s right-hand-woman since 2003, keeping her organized and helping ensure the office runs smoothly. From bookkeeping to handling the day-to-day details that keep everything in line, she is the glue behind the scenes. Known as the queen of etiquette, Carolyn isn’t afraid to correct a misplaced comma or grammar mishap, much to everyone’s benefit! Her incredible discernment and insight make her Nancy’s most trusted ally, and her steady presence is felt in every aspect of the office. Quite simply, Benchmark wouldn’t be the same without her.
